this may sound a bit stupid. i’m teaching myself 3ds max and maya and i was wondering weather or not you have to set UV’s before you can make/apply normal maps from/to a model.
yes ,you must have your low-model a correct UV coordinate before you render normal.
I’m struggling with it myself, I’d go with maya though for uv’s, I find it easier than max. I never go with zbrush automatic uv’s, perhaps I don’t know how to pull them off, but they’re always a mess (AUV tiles and such).
One way is to check UVs flip vertical before you export obj.
