Question about increasing the polycount

Hey!
Im new in Zbrush and was wondering if its possible to increase the poly count in some “areas” of the model (without extracting to different object). For instance, lets say we model up a face. The chin is good, but I would like to increase the polycount in the nose. How?

Also, lets say I start with a Cylinder. Then make it longer and thinner. The polygons are now very “long”. Lets say I would like to do some modeling “sideways” around the surface. For that to be possible I would need “shorter, smaller” polygons(?). How?

Hide or mask the parts of the model that you wish to be protected.

Keep in mind that doing this will result in triangles where the two mesh densities meet. Those smooth differently from quads, which means you’re likely to get visible artifacts.

A better solution is to split the model into multiple SubTools.
