Question about 'Freeze SubDivision Levels': not solved

hi all!
FINALLY I RECEIVED MY UPGRADE! THANK YOU PIXOLOGIC! IT IS AWESOME!

playing with the new dynamesh feature i noticed some problems.
i can’t project dynamesh detai on a tool with multile subdivision level and after passing from dynamesh to the normal tool one subdivision layer disappear.
for example:
-i create a sphere and subdivide it 3 times (4 subd level)
-i push dynamesh button and it ask me to freeze the base res level and i accept.
-i push the dynamesh button again to enable dynamesh
-i set the dynamesh resolution + ctrl drag
-i sculpt some line + ctrl drag to fix “mesh”/volume
then to return to the "normal " subtool:
-i push dynamesh button to disable it
-i push the active “freeze subdivision level button” in order to disable it and project details on the subdivided sphere and continue with normal sculpting technique.
after this process the sphere lose one subdivision level (total sub level =3) and no details are attacked, but some holes appear.
what i miss?
please help me.

This is the correct behavior. When unfreezing the mesh, the mesh will not necessary have the same sub divisions count. What you will get is the number of sub divisions that is required in order to restore the original vertices count of the mesh .

Example … If the first sub div level of the mesh has 1000 vertices before freezing and you have remeshed it to produce a mesh that has 4000 vertices then ZBrush will need one less sub division in order to restore the original vertices count.

As for the auto masking… ZBrush will mask all the projected vertices that were within the scan range, any points outside of the range will be unprojected and unmasked allowing you to use brushes to modify this portion of the mesh without impacting the projected points.
The range is controlled by the same ‘Dist’ slider that controls ‘Project All’ in the SubTool subpalette.

thank you for your reply, but i tried to modify the dist slider ( i set its value to "0 ") but nothing happen…
only a certain amount of modification is recognized as withot touching the slider…
then i tryed to modify also the mean slider and nothing happen…
help me, please…

hi supporter!
i found that if you push the outer button in project all palette dynamesh report convex modification (all), but not concave; if you press inner button in the same menu dynamesh report concave detail, but not convex…
dist button doesn’t affect the result.
i’m at the start point…

any idea?
please, what i asked is really useful!
