Question about Deleting Tools

Hello,

First let me say this isn’t about deleting tools in the subtool palette. I can do that just fine.

I’m wondering if there’s a way, after you clone your tool to the tool’s palette so you can append it to the subtools one later, if you can then delete that tool from the tool’s palette. Or, am I possibly thinking about things the wrong way. My file is pretty huge right now and it’s due to having imported all meshes from another program and all are pretty large pieces. I clones each, so I could import them all into the subtools section. It’s one character, and accessories, so I need them all if I want to finish some detailing on a couple of pieces and texturing. I just want to now delete the cloned tools to free up space, or to find some other way of freeing it up. Decimation master helped greatly at 52% preserving all visible details, but it’s still pretty large.

Any help is greatly appreciated, as I’ve searched here and elsewhere for the past couple of nights (I might have missed it here somewhere – the forum is pretty huge, so forgive me if I did).

Thanks.

select the tool you want to delete and use tool.geometry.delete all

this will remove it from your project.

Alternatively you could always just save the .ztl file instead of the .zpr and then import that into a new project to save space. If you have a lot of random meshes in your list this is probably faster.

Thanks for the quick replies  It looks like I’m just yet another who has gotten confused by this. Trying to wrap my head around the saving of tools and removing them from a project, bringing them back in. I think I have it now.
