as in, how do i create a suitable base mesh.

i have one i did in maya (see attachments) a few days ago. can i have suggestions on how to make it more suitable for a base mesh to use in zbrush?

i want to make sure i have a perfect base mesh so i can really dive in and start having fun with this software.

hope you guys can help.

What makes a great base mesh depends on what you’re planning to do. A mesh for animation can be very different from one that’s for illustration due to the fact that for illustration you don’t need to worry about edge loops and the like. If you’re planning to render in other apps you’ll also be more restricted than if you plan to render in ZBrush.

However, here is a really good base mesh to study and get ideas from: http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=061792

im planning to use it for animation

and to be honest looking at the base model again i could do with tidying it up and removing a lot of unneeded detail considering i will be subdividing.

but yeah, if anyone can expand or link me to tutorials about good base mesh protocols i would be very grateful.
