Question about 3d scene navigation in Zbrush. Please Help :)

Hello. I am relatively new to Zbrush. I have Used Sculptris mostly, but Zbrush is the best.
First, I work with the mouse. I don’t use tablet. When I am in Sculptris I rotate the viewport camera around the mesh, I zoom , I pan , I do everything without any problem. But when I open Zbrush , when I try to rotate the viewport camera everything tilts very bad. I mean its not when I move the mouse horizontally the viewport camera rotates around some vertical ax and when I move the mouse up and down the ‘viewport camera’ rotates around some horizontal ax. I tried a lot of things but nothing helps. I want to rotate the camera just like in sculptris with the mouse (when I stretch the mesh and when I pan to different parts, the camera to rotate around the local “mesh’s center”.

Thank you in advance

Big step up in the world
The UI can be a drawback because stuff is hidden. Feel free to try mine. Link below my post.

Thank you very much. I will try it tomorrow, after sleep
See you

Let me know if you like it. And be sure to get the Middle Button plug

Hi  I put the content of folder PlaceInZBrush4r7ZStartupMacros in the directory you said, but something doesn’t work. I don’t get the green star thing. Everything is the same. May be I did sth wrong. Can u give me some instructions. My Zbrush is 4R6.

Thank you in advance

I’m running 4R7 here. Is there a reason you can’t?

Hi  Now I am with 4R7. So I need to put the folder you gave in folder Macros. And when I open the program I should get the green star and all the customized menues right? Or I should press something.
It happened to be more complicated than I thought.

Place the StartupMacro.txt where directed to too. If all is where it should be, 4R7 will open as my image shows.

Hi  I loadet your interface I got the green star, but the menues on the left didn’t appear. Anyway. Still I cannot get the desired camera rotation. May be there is some other settings, I don’t know. May be I miss something because I don’t know mush about the zbrush interface, I used it 5/6 years ago, and now I jumped back on it but many things have changed  I will keep researching how this can be set to my taste. May be the answer is your one but I cannot do it right. Anyway its ok

Thank you very much for your answers. I will be here on the forum, so see you soon again :)

You may have to load the SUPER 7.cfg file via Load UI. Is the Left shelf closed? You did find and install everything I posted?

Hey. I found the answer. I Should click on - Rotate On Y axis. This is very good, that was the thing I was searching for. Now I just have to play with the pivot points to get it orbiting around the mesh’s center. Thank you very much for writing me my friend

I made complete mess with the files. I didn’t put them correct. I mixed them bad :) This is not a problem. Yes the left panel is not here  I think I don’t have enough knowledge yet to use your custom UI. I don’t know basic things about Zbrush. May be your interface will be of great help when I get a lil bit better in using the program
Thank you once again for the help

My image could have text and arrows pointing to the various ‘goodies’ I have in the open now, rather than in a panel you might not even know exists.
:frowning: It is a problem if you can’t get the files where needed. It will not work.
There are also settings you may need or wish to adjust, in Preferences (under Edit)
Your welcome. There can be many ways.
