Question abou ALPHAS

Hi all,

brand new user here. Got a question about alphas. when I import an alpha that is not square, it automatically changes to a square when I drag it out onto the model. Is there a way to set it so that when I drag the alpha it drags the same proportions as the texture, as in a rectangular shape?

All alphas must be square. You can resize it in Photoshop. Just be sure to keep it in the 16-bit Grayscale PSD format.

Thanks…I discovered that they had to be square also, however I managed to get it to stay a rectangle by just blacking out everything except for the rectangle that I wanted to show. Its kind of a hack but it works. [example below]
