Very good hand…
I like it.
cameyo
p.s. SC: i have an airbrush … it’s another thing
Totally awesome image 8BIT!
great image !!!
But one thing appears a bit strange to me , I clearly see teeth in it … Right under the eye … Anyone else see em ?
or do I have a weird imagination
Thanks again for the positive input from everybody!!!
Namek, your eyes don’t deceive you! there are teeth in their and yes my imagination is a little warped i guess…
I have the attention span of a gnat, so when i’m painting that stuff i’ll just change my mind halfway through and things get left in, like teeth…
Someone just call me a shrink.
Thanks again.

Airbrush-type effects can also be easily achieved within ZBrush.
Different alphas will give you different brush shapes, and there are controls in the Alpha palette to let you give them more or less falloff at the edges.
Changing the RGB Intensity in the Draw palette lets you slowly build up intensity.
Stroke types let you achieve many effects beyond the standard Dots stroke type.
Also, if you bake your image you can then make use of the many color correction tools. The shading enhancer brush, for example, can work like either the Dodge or Burn tool from Photoshop, depending on whether or not you press the Alt key.
Have fun.
Really nice iris in there 8bit. 50.
With the graphire pen…airbrush techniques are a breeze. =)
I just with ZBrush would get a brush engine similar to PS7…I would be in heaven if so.
Thanks again…
Just out of interest is anyone using a tablet and pen???
I’ve been meaning to ask this for a while and should probably start a new thread, but what the hell.
Anyone got any good recommendations???
Thank you!;#

Sweet airbrushing 8bit, looks great. I’ve allways had a penchant for two color shaded pictures like this.
Regarding tablets, I think you will find that Wacom have improved their tablets immensely through the years and they are in my mind the only real choice. Still a bit expensive though. The new Graphire 3 is out soon maybe give that a shot, or maybe the Intuos2 6x8 inch, which would be the one I would buy if I was in the market for one. The Graphire has 512 levels of pressure sensitivity, the Intuos 2 has 1024.
Still can’t figure out why they still are so dear, limited market?
Hey TVEYES,
Thanks for your response! Much appreciated dude!!!
I started another thread about the tablets because nobody, apart from you, saw it!!
I agree on the pricing thing…Considering Wacom want £400 UK Pounds for the tablet everyone’s recommending…I can buy a half decent machine for that!!!
Oh well, check out the other thread…
Thanks again.

het 8bit, i love this eye! u did that with a mouse? WOW! i m really new to the whole cg world, but i started a thread about tablets a while ago, and wacom is definetly the way to go. i bought a wacom graphire2 and i love it!(especially since i am a lefty) i would have loved to get an intuos, but can’t afford it. well anyway great piece!

Sorry 8, I missed the tablet question as well…
I use a Wacom ARTZ 8" X 6", and it works like a charm…I haven’t adjusted any preferences either in it’s drivers or in ZBrush and it feels exactly like a pencil or pen for me. Also I use it for a lot of mouse functions, switching to my tracball for certain things, since they are both active at the same time.
Hey Mr Cutter,
I did post that for you, and you owe me a big stone!..not…
The whole Wacom thing is good, but i’m trying to get away from ‘mouse mode’ and am wondering whether this is going to be worth the cash or whether it’s another overblown expense???
I don’t know…I’m so used to the mouse now, yet uncomfortable with it…if that makes any sense…
Over and out.

Well 8, I have a VERY sensitive trackball, a Logitech TrackMan Marble…It is VERY accurate, but I wouldn’t try writing my name with it. On the other hand, with my tablet and stylus, I wouldn’t hesitate, and I can choose my medium. Also, I use my tablet for opening files, double-clicking is automatic, once you get the rhythm, and since you can still HAVE your mouse at the same time, it’s an advantage, not an either or… ;)Mine allows both being hooked up.
And if you want to know the difference, draw something with a pencil, then grab that pencil in your fist like a dagger, and try drawing something by moving your whole arm, keeping your fingers immobile…I think you’ll notice the difference!
I couldn’t imagine NOT using a tablet for graphics…
Sorry, response to Artboy…
That is 100000% mouse mate.
It takes a little time, but with conviction you’ll get there…
I started out on Photoshop 1 with no layers just alpha channels…
Bring on the wheelchair…
I’m 29 so you’ve probably got an advantage…
Goodluck mate.
