Q: how to make realistic cloth materials/textures

Hey , guys(and girls :p) , I could use some help :

I’ve seen quite a few images with some impressive clothes. Now I didnt think it was done by painting a texture on it , it looked more like the texture was mixed in a material that made it seamless.
I’ve tried to make a material like that with the SphericalBlend material but the textures I used on it instead of the scales texture got all distorted.

Anyone idea’s / methods ?

thx in advance,
Kevin

Hope this technic help you

you might want to check out the fabulous textureless approach of thelonious re: cloth-materials, too.

thanks both of you , I’ll manage with those 2 threads

Juandel, do you still have the script for the Denim texture? Maybe you could share it here. Thanks,

I have some free materials for DL here…a few cloth mats…some leather and metal.

argh! Jay&Havran&theNameKevin, that looks like a severe case of blind QuickLinks adoreatismo and un-checked threads on my behalf  sorry - i will try to contact thelonious asap (= not right now, as i’m in post-happyhour-mode  )

  • hopefully edited soon

I’d be cool to get a hold of that script, but my cloth problem has been solved already.
