Pushing low poly editing to higher sub d levels?

I have several levels of sub D on my model, but wanted to go back to sub d level 1 and do some changes on the toe nails. Problem is as soon as I go up any sib d level, the changes on the level 1 editing are smoothed out, how can I push my low sub d editing through the higher sub d levels?

Try Geometry -> Reproject Higher Subdiv after making changes to level one and see if you’re OK.
