Pulling 1 Piece From A Subtool

Im sure its any easy question , but i couldnt figure it out.

I want to take one layer and make it into a separate ztool so i can append it to another tool.

how do i pull that 1 layer into its own?

What do you mean by layer? Do you just mean taking one SubTool and moving it to be a SubTool of a different model? If so, you would use Tool>Clone to copy the SubTool into the Tool palette. Then you can append it to the new model.

Or were you talking about a 3D layer in the Tool>Layer menu?

subtool is what i meant by layer. so i want to grab a subtool, or say 3 subtools and make them a separate tool.
