Proper Workflow and UV Assistance.

Hi everyone,

I’m fairly new to ZBrush but for what little I have done I absolutely love the software. I did have some questions on how to finish a product. I did work in Mudbox a while back and had a good workflow down but for some reason ZBrush seems a tad different.

  1. Form a good basemesh/dynamesh.
  2. Refine, tweak.
  3. Detail.
    (this is where I am confused)
  4. UVs for texturing? (both uv master/uv map [under the tool section] solutions crash my program)
  5. ZRemesh or Decimation Master, and then UV (still crashes)
  6. skip to polypaint? But how would I send that info to another program (I’d like to use Substance Painter too)

Of course I guess each workflow is different depending on organic/hard surface but as a general workflow, anytime I reach the texturing/uv steps, ZBrush likes to crash. Am I missing steps or over-looking something? Could it be my system? Though I thought ZBrush was software accelerated not hardware accelerated.

Any info and insight is greatly appreciated.
