Prolly an easy answer.. is there a way to store colors on a palette?

I’m doing some painting, and possibly haven’t discoved a palette feature.

Is there some way to save colors on a palette for quick referencing?

I’m polypainting, and rather then using the color picker, I’d like to store 16 colors or so for quick changing.

Yes, you can use the system palette. There is a button under menu, colour, SysPalette. You can store upto 16 custom colours there. You could hold down control and drag the SysPallet button somewhere on you screen to dock it to the side for easy access.

Cool! Thanks for that… now I just need to remember the save preference hotkey combo again… LOL!

Actually played with that some, and it’s not a great solution. to facilitate painting, something that docks on the shelves would be really helpful. Has anyone written a zplugin like this? I’d think it would be pretty popular.

Ages ago I wrote a palette utility: ZSwatch It will work in ZB 3.1 but it really needs updating. I hope to do it before long.

Looks like it was recent;y updated for zb3! thanks for the head’s up!

Alternatively, you can add a subtool of a basic sphere or something then polypaint on that as you would a real palette. Of course, there are drawbacks like hiding the subtool or positioning it for convenience but it’s an alternative option.

Revanto :stuck_out_tongue:

Zswatch was exactly what I was looking for.

It’s already installed, and the button has a perm home on my UI now.

Now if I could get my texture workflow resolved, I’d be a happy camper.
