projection master / tutorial question

Hi,
i am currently working thru the projection master tutorial and i have one big problem i have no idea where it comes from.

whenever i use the line tool, i don’t get those smooth lines, but lines like i the attached screen.

i have the settings like mentioned in the tutorial

I’m confused. Your line looks very smooth to me.

yes, but i mean the z value. it just does not look like in the tutorial video. mine just looks so flat.
