Projection Master Question (pic)

So I built the base/border piece then went into projection master and wanted to create 3 vertical straight lines in the middle. I did one and then shift+s to clone it but I kept getting the spacing wrong and had to exit projection and ctrl+n and drop my tool again.

Is there a way to individually move the 3 lines after drawing them? If not does anyone have any ideas how to manipulate them? I tried masking out everything but the line and moving but it messes up the geometry.

One method you could use is to create an alpha of what you would want the final result to look like.

so…on a flat surface draw out the straight lines that you would want on the surface, mask off the unwanted area and delete, then use the create alpha from mesh.

Go back to your original file shown in the example you gave us, select the rectangle tool, then your new alpha, and use the manipulation tools to center to your liking.

Thats how I would attempt it first. Alphas are a must in zbrush if you want accuracy. Just my 2 cents.

Goodluck and happy modeling!

Yeah I think it’s possible out of projection master to draw multiple vertical lines with one stroke and be able to change the width between them? Then yep, use that as an alpha. Great thinking, thanks.

You would be changing the width by scaling…so all you would need is an alpha with what you want and then make it fit pretty much. I think we are saying the same thing now…nonetheless I’m glad it helped.
