projection master problems....

hi guys…
i’m new to zbrush and I’ve been trying to use zbrush to texture a face. i have used 4k photo reference to keep a good detail for the final texture and render.
I used the projection master 'cause i’ve heard it’s quite a powerful tool to use while texturing, the problem is that when i pick up from the projection master it creates a 1k texture that ruins all the details i’ve created with gigantic pixels…

how can i create a 4k, 6k, 8k texture instead of a 1k texture?

Another thing is that i can’t modify the image while i’m in the projection master, i’ve watched some video tutorials to learn to use it, and in this tuts they use a move tool to adapt the image to the model… it doesn’t work for me!!!

can anyone help me??

To create a texture of the size you wish, click in the Tools/UV Map section and choose your texture size there before unwrapping your object.

Also the object must be high enough resolution geometry to accept the pixel edits made in projection master. Once the high res texture is created you can then go down to lower resolution geometry and still retain the fine texture detail once you tell zbrush to use the texture, and not the polypaint.

Regarding your last question I believe that feature (if I’m thinking of the same tutorials you’re speaking of) is broken in this current version as they rework some fundamental texturing methods in preparation for their next release which changes much of the workflow involved with projection texturing. If you encounter texturing issues while using the various forms of projection keep in mind alot of that stuff in the old tutorials isn’t going to work with desired expectations with this version and some of the stuff won’t work at all, like the zproject brush.

thanx a lot, really.
so i think that the only way to modify the texture the way i want for the projection is using zapplink… right??
I’m new to zbrush, so the only way for me to learn it are those old tuts or do you know any other way? (i mean tuts or books)
i’ve allready boght a few ebooks form 3dtotal and those of erick keller.
thanx a lot again…
