Projection Master not dropping on Polypaint mesh

ZB3 is not dropping any textures onto my mesh after at use projection master. I am mostly polypainting on my Ztool, but when I go to Projection Master ad draw a few lines, textures or whatever, It will not pickup on the model. What am I doing wrong? I am following along with the texturing video by Meats Meier on Introduction to Z3, doing exactly what he is doing but nothing is picking up.

Help please
Thanks

By the way I am making sure color is checked and fade is on. No deformation

Could you describe your exact steps?

I select the subtool I want to polypaint on disable the UVs and activate colorize. I select a base color to start with. Use the spray brush and spray some texture on the mesh making sure RGB is only active. I press the hotkey G for projection master check only color and fade, I make sure RGB is active, start drawing some lines and fine detail. I open projection master again to pick it up and no color information is picked up on the mesh. My ZTool is around 4.2 million polys and RGB is activated throughout the process.

Before you drop your subtool the first time, select white, press Rgb and press Color>FillObject.

Sven

You mean create a new texture?

No. What I’m suggesting is that you fill all the object’s polygons with white, priming the canvas so to speak, before you drop your model in Projection Master.

  1. Make sure you have white selected
  2. Select the Rgb button
  3. Under the Color menu, press the FillObject button
  4. Press G and press Drop Now button
  5. Paint your model
  6. Press G again and press Pickup Now button

No textures involved.

(tip: After pressing G, simply press spacebar to proceed)

You are trying to paint on the polygons aren’t you?

OK. I will try that when I get home. However, if I have already poly painted on the object, aren’t I going to lose that work when I do a fill color?

If polys have already been painted, I’m not really sure why Projection Master isn’t passing your color painting back when you pick up. And to answer your question, of course if you press Color>FillObject that will overwrite any polypainting already there. (Sorry, I assumed you were first starting painting your model in Projection Master.)

There must be something other reason Projection Master is failing. The subtool isn’t masked is it? (It’s possible for a model to be masked and not see the darkened mask if Viewmask button is turned off.)

Otherwise, ??? No idea.

Sven

It was a masking issue. I feel kinda dumb now. Thanks for the help Sven.
