Projection Master - Can't rotate stuff?

Hello,
I’m using Projection Master, the DragRec and DragDot tools… after I put the alpha I want in the right spot I want to rotate it but it won’t let me and the rotate button is turned off…
also, unlike the normal mode, in Projection Master, DragRec won’t let me rotate.

The rotate button does work on freehand mode for instance, however, it does nothing

Anyone knows why?
Thank you !

Take a look at stencils to see if this does what you want. It has a little coin controller that allows you to move and rotate.

Basically I want to use Projection master because I can then move and copy the result then paste it again, having more control.
But why won’t it let me rotate it?

Also, I trying clicking on “Stencils on” in the Stencils pallete but it doesn’t work, nothing happens, how come?

Thank you.

You have to turn an alpha into a stencil first (“Alpha”/“Make St”).

Stencils work in P.M.

Ok thanks, this works and does the job allright,
however, it only saves RGB changes and not deformations…
I use paint and zsub on the stencil in a few locations in Projection Master but when I pick up the object, only the paint goes through…
And I double checked and the Projection Master is set to colors and deformations… what the hell…

OK, voice of sanity here. Projection master doesn’t allow you to rotate the model because it is a still frame of your canvas. Going into this mode allows you to use the 2d paint tools to paint both colour and deformation. You cannot use your regular 3d brushes and you cannot move the model on your canvas either. The idea is to take advantage of the 2d painting tools to do things you can’t do with the 3d painting/sculpting tools. Once you click the projection master button again and click ‘pickup now’, Zbrush ‘projects’ all the details you painted onto the area you see and you go back into your regular 3d mode where you can continue sculpting and polypainting.

The resolution of your mesh, UV texture image and canvas will vary so the quality of your results after you press ‘pickup now’ will vary. So, it is best to keep your mesh, texture and canvas size at a high level so the quality of your painting translates properly.

Hope this clears things up.

Sorry, mis-read your original message. It sounded like a newbie question. Apologies if I sounded patronising in my message.

lol, it’s fine… but your reply has nothing to do with my question

Anyway I figured out the problem, what I need to do is turn the Stencil OFF in Projection Master before I pick the object back up, that saves the deformation changes :+1:

Thx for everyone’s help!
