Projecting details with transpose

I have noticed the “Zproject” brush will reset a transpose line.

This makes it impossible to use transpose to “clone” details (sculptural or texture) from the canvas to your mesh.

workflow should be:

Have two meshes, orinetate the mesh with details then drop out of edit mode (essentialy dropping it to canvas).
Select another mesh activate edit mode, then draw a transpose line from the active mesh to the one droped on the canvas.
Now when you enter the zproject brush it should read the details from whatever is under the transpose end line and transfer it to your active mesh.

The problem is the zproject brush resets the transpose line therefore there is no end line to read from the canvas…?

Any ideas how to fix this?

btw I am using windows 7

thanks for any suggestions or answers if you have encountered this problem

cheers

from what i’ve read the old function of using the transpose line for zproject has been removed (due to upcoming spotlight(which makes no sense because we don’t have it, why didn’t they remove it when it would come out, end of rant ))
your best bet is to use the imageplane plugin and then append the 3dplane to your current tool, orient correctly and use zproject, which works on a straight through direction now(zaxis)

thanks, at least that will stop me srcatching my head…

I think pixo should bring it back, because it was so much more than just a texturing tool.

I use it to selectively brush/blend/mixnmatch displacement between sculpt layers. Also good to control the disp between arbitrary meshes with totally different volumes.

damnit it all to heck
