Projecting a texture

Hi all!

I need some help on this matter.
This is what I have done:
Imported an obj and devided it to lev 6.
Dropped it into projection master.
Loaded a 3D plane and made that a polymesh.
Assigned a texture to the plane and dragged it out on the canvas.
Now, when I want to allign the texture to the face features I can’t see the mesh
underneath, which makes it kind of impossible to allign it.
In all the tutorials I,ve seen the mesh underneath is visible.
What am I missing here.
I can’t use the image plane script since I’m running 3.5R2.

The second thing I have problem with is getting the plane to be on top of
the mesh, it seems that how ever I move it it’s lurking just beneeth.

Please, someone help me out.

Is there really no one that knows how to work the projection master with a 3d plane…?

i don’t remember how to make it transparent.
you need to enter transform move mode and draw downwards this should move the plane in z space toward you so its not intersecting the model.
you could always put the plane off to the side and use the clone brush to paint it on to the face.
or you could do the same thing realtime outside of projection master using zproject brush and or project all.
you could also drag rectangle stroke, or drag dot a texture onto the model

Than’s spaceboy!
I think I have somehow find a way to get the plane where I want it to be.
The Zproject is a good way to get the texture on there but I want to strech the plane to allign to my model. I allready have a detailed modell to apply this technique on, the one one the picture was only for test reasons.

you can stretch a plane in realtime using the move brush, i did exactly what you are talking about a few days ago, what is nice about it too is you can rotate the model a bit so you don’t always end up with planerprojection stretching.

Well that is exactly what I’m trying to achieve. Take a look at the pics above and you will see my problem. Since the 3d plane isn’t transparent I can’t place my texture where I want.

@Husse, drop the Z intensity to 0, DON’T uncheck the Zadd, but drop the intensity to 0.

It should work.

Thank’s jinx3dn! That took care of that problem but with the z intensity down to zero, I can’t use the move tool to pull those verts in place.
Could you please tell me the correct way to apply a texture to a modell with a 3d plane?

Please, please! Can someone tell me exactly the procedure to make this
projecting a texture via the projection master and a 3d plane happen? I just can’t figure out where I go wrong!!!
Is my software just not working the right way or what?
Please shed some light on this! I mean there must be tons of you guys doing this every day.
