projectall creates little white dots on model

Seems like the other subforum is being abandoned, so I’ll post this here too

So I’m projecting polypaint from one model to another using projectall… it projects the paint fine, but also creates little tiny white dots all around the mesh… i tried playing around with the options but keep getting the same results… anyone had this experience or knows how to solve it, thanks!

Try turning off all of your layers and, in Material paint mode, go to color->fill object. I had a similar thing happen and that fixed it for me

Hey, thanks for the response… but this didn’t work. I did what you said and now I get noise all over the model, as if the model has a cavity mask, which is doesn’t… so now rather than getting the occasional dots that didn’t get any colors, I’m getting it all over the model… man, this is slowing me down  any other suggestions would be great

Alright, I got this to work. For people who’ll likely have this problem in the future, store a morphtarget of your model, use a tiny bit of inflat deformation(tools>deformation) on your new model, project all, and then switch back to original morphtarget, and this should fix the noise problem. if both meshes are in the same place then it’ll screw up the projection…
