project too high polycount

i am trying to create a scene from a bunch of tools that i have made myself. the problem is that with all the tools together its over 50 million polygons. this causes a problem with my pc because it goes extremely slow. i probably should have used decimation master before polypainting but i already polypainted everything. some of the polypainting is very detailed and less polygons means less polpaint detail, right? So now i want to be able to place the tools where i want them but it takes forever with the amount of polygons. not all my tools have lower divisions. i even used fast render qualities and it doesnt help. i want to quickly place the tools and BPR at the end. can someone help

It would mean less potential polypaint detail, but if your current polypaint isn’t making use of every single vertex (and it likely isn’t) then it can still save you some data. You can use decimation master after polypainting, just make sure to enable the Preference option to ‘Use and Keep Polypaint first’. Give it a spin and adjust the numbers to see if you can get a lighter mesh that still has the polypainted details you need.
