project texture on a 3d plane in projection master

I’m watching a tutorial from the Gnomon Workshop on how to project a face texture on a character using projection master. By the way, this isn’t really a step by step, tell you how to do it tutorial, it is more of a sped up show you their work flow type of tutorial. It also looks like he is using 3.0.

Anyway, it looks like he drops the model using projection master, adds a 3d plane, assigns the image of the face to the plane and then drags it on the stage. From there he uses the scale and move tool to position it over the model and can then start move the points around on the plane to get it to line up. He then picks up the model and the image on the plane is now projected on the model.

My issue is that in 3.5 r3, when I attempt to do the same thing, I can drag the 3d plane out but it never has the texture that is showing in my texture pallet assigned to it.

Why not?

Hey there,
in 3.5 you have to assign the texture through Tool/texture map.

Hope that helps.

Thanks dsoellbuster!

I also tried to follow that tutorial, but I don’t understand the workflow precisely and what are the difference you have to make in 3.5 r3?

Thanks!

well … what is your problem precisely? :D:D

If you are having the same issue as I described above, once you import the texture through the texture pallet, you need to select that texture via the tool>texture map pallet to the active tool.
