Project-related bug/lag

Hi there! I’m new to the forum but have been using ZBrush for over two years or so, on and off. Anyway, this is the first time i’m running into this kind of a problem.

First of, let me tell you the pipeline here, or progress:
Started of with a basemesh imported from maya.
Did some work in ZBrush 4R7.
Then moved on to 4R7P2.

I’m really not sure where/when the problems started to occur, and they might have been there from the beginning of the project. Anyway my model is currently at 600k points and i’m having som lag, artefact and brush issues (yay for all at the same time). For instance, I can´t use dam standard at 600k as it lags way too much, my clay brushes are basically just inflating, and I also get some weird artefacts around my brushes(they do disappear once I rotate the camera). See images for reference.

So I quickly made a new project, drew out some ZSpheres and bumped up the subdivs to 9mil points. No problem using the brushes, they looked like they should, no artefacts either… So whats the problem with my project? Is there anyway to solve it?

1st pic is artefacts (its like the brush is clipping), 2nd is how the clay looks on my model, and the last one is how it looks on a new project.

Maybe check you don’t have Dynamic subdivision turned on or something?
