project color texture on another model

i have a model created in zbrush and has a color texture applyed. i have a second model (low poly) on which i projected the sculpt from the first model and i want to also project the texturing i did on the first model ( but not transfering from the polypainting…i have texture applyed). what are my options?

You could convert the texture to polypaint, project that over, and then convert the polypaint back to a texture.

Or you could use a program like xnormal to read the texture information from the highpoly and project it to the low poly’s texture.

i m not sure exactly how to convert a texture to polypainting…i will try to find some info online about this. but assuming i manage to get polypainting…then how do i project it? the same way i projected the sculpt information but assuming with rbg on and add/sub off? am i close?

Tool: PolyPaint: Polypaint from Texture will convert a texture into Polypaint
You’ve hit the nail on the head with Project All / RGB on

then on the new mesh
Tool: Texture Map: New from Polypaint to convert it’s new polypaint information to a texture.

ok i tryed that and when i project the polypainting on my low poly model ( subdived)…i get the polypainting but also some white dots where the 2 meshes intersected. i have filled the low poly model with white color…maybe this might have caused the problem but i didnt find other solution for removing polypainting information completely from a model… any idea?
