Problems with Z Project

I textured my model using Z Project, I set the mesh to a high res so the projection will come up in high res but whenever i click the “New From Poly Paint” button to extract what i have projected it will end up low resolution, im using ZBrush 3.5 R3, any ideas thanks in advance!

I don’t use zproject much and when I do I only use it for certain displacement operations, never anything having to do with color. However, I did run into a similar problem with displacement and to correct the problem what I did was increase the document size under the Document palette.

So try increasing to say 2048 X 2048 and then try running zproject.

This is just something to try until someone comes along more knowledgeable with zproject, as I’m not sure this will help with your problem.

how dense is the mesh? (points)
what UV texture size are you trying to make?
what is a “low res” image to you? 56x56? 2k?

The main problem sounds like you’re defaulting to a 1k image, which I’m guessing you see as low res.

tool>uvMap>size…pick one.
Now try new from polypaint.
