Problems with Transparecy in Spotlight

Hey Guys. Hope I posted this in the right Category. I’m new to ZBrush (4R2) and I have Problems with Spotlight and its transparency-function. I imported a Texture from Photoshop with an Alpha Channel. Well, it seems ZBrush ignores that completely. After that I checked several Tutorials in the Web, I found out that pure black in the texture will appear transparent in ZBrush, so I added a black layer in the background of my image. Back in ZBrush the pure black parts where transparent, but the blending zones looked awful, the edges were far too hard. I also tried the color tool, but there was still no soft blending. I’ll add a screenshot so you can see what I mean. I hope you have any Ideas how to do that better.

PS: Feel free to correct my English, I’m not a native speaker!

No one with a solution in here?

Still no one who can help me?

From what I noticed, spotlight make a difference from RGB black which will look transparent and CMJN black which will not.
I personnaly make the tranparent background with 100% black RGB and save it under an RGB PSD file. It works well like that.

hello, thanks for the tip with transparency.
i didn’t know zbrush liked psd files.
problem is gone.
