problems with pillar and alphas

Hello i have been trying to put a alpha pattern around an old roman pillar but i cant figure out how to make it even all the way around if you know what i mean?

When i apply an alpha its very strong and fade out at the corners. How do i make an even pattern all the way around 360degree?

Thanks a lot!

i think theres no cylindrical projection in zbrush (as far as i know) but you can always use Radial Symmetry to sculpt onto poles or even spheres to create patterns.

As to how to use pre-made alphas and wrap em around a cylinder, maybe you can achieve it with some masking, that tis if your pattern isn’t too much explicit.

A picture is worth a thousand words. It might help if you post an image of the problem.

The usual way would be to use Radial Symmetry+Mirror and a DragRect stroke with your alpha.
