Problems with Normal&Displacement maps in 3ds Max

Hi guys,

This is my first time using ZBrush, and it’s amazing piece of software.
My game plan was to build basic meshes in 3ds Max, detail them in ZBrush and then again, render them in 3ds Max. This works, but only partialy(i supose my lack of knowledge is the problem), since I cant get same level of detail on Max models. I’m subdividing the objects(Turbosmooth), and using displacements maps as bump maps in material slots. These are the results:

It is more than noticable how much of the details were lost.
If anyone has any piece of advice, I would more than welcome it!

PS - I’m rendering in Mental Ray.
