Problems with 3d print exporter

Hi Everyone I am having problems with exporting my sliced subtools as stl’s. I have 10 subtools I need to export out and 2 files always end up messing up. It’s strange as it looks like different files mess up and not the same ones. They save as 0k files. if I delete the other subtools and export they then have a different scale and move to a different position. help please… If anyone has any idea. I’m on a current job and need to get this fixed. Also any other ideas for slicing? I have Maya and meshlab.

thanks ruby

The way I export multiple tools to different STLs, is to have a block that is the full feight of the model, and I export that with every tool. I show only the tools I want, including the block. I then merge visible, then use the exporter to set the height expand export. You can then delete that block in whatever software you use for the STLs.

Thanks I will give that a try. It’s weird as sometimes it’s the arm and other times the leg.

How exactly do you set the height expand settings?

Hi It looks like I was able to get my objects all to show up by exporting as Ascii and making sure they had different names. I exported them all in separate file by using the Export as separate files button.

Cool. Yes, forgot about the ‘sub tools with same names’ problem.
