Problems exporting from zbrush to max

Hi I made this model in zbrush then exported it to max.
As you can see from the pictures below, when the model is imported into max the polygons have became all triangular.

does anyone know why this happens, and if it is possible to fix?

is quads checked in the export dropdown?
tool> export> quads

yeah and if still looks in tris right click in max and convert to editable poly. by default its editable mesh that shows hidden edges. and if its still in tris export again from zbrish with quads checked in

The weird thing is, quads is selected in the export box in zbrush. And in MAX it has exported them as quads. Its just that the quads get bent in the middle in MAX, here is a picture:

I am completely at a lost as to why it is doing this. Has anyone seen this before and know how to fix it?
