problems deleting a subtool

on a number of occasions I’ll be working on something and go to delete a subtool or whatever else that brings up that rectangular confirm box

the damn thing just disapears before I have chance to press anything!?

anyone else seen this and know what triggers it? doesn’t do it all the time but infuriating when it does happen

edit: is there something I can edit somewhere so it will never ask me? If I press delete I just want it to delete whatever it is, I dont need confirmation messages

I’ve just had the exact same problem. Though I did move the mouse quick enough to the “OK” button and pressed it but it still didn’t delete the subtool

I restarted ZBrush a couple of times and and it worked.

Might be a memory thing :qu: The file I’m working on is just under 15 million polys made up of 15 subtools.

what OS are you on? I’m using Win 7 with 8 gig of RAM

a couple of times it’s done it on something as simple as a polysphere with one other default tool appended to it, very odd… but at least it doesn’t do it all the time, would make the software unusable

More or less the same as you. XP64, Quad Core, 8gb Ram…

Well from what you say it seems more like a bug than a memory issue

I have had the same problem few times. Sometimes restarting zbrush helps, if not just append the subtools to other object one by one.

still having this problem

video below shows exactly what happens

It is a memory thing. Happens with sticky keys actually. Wintablet has also been known to be a culprit in the office here.

If you open up any conformation box it will automatically remove any pop up boxes…try subtool master. projection master, etc. Anything that needs conformation will go away right after popping up.

A restart of Zbrush fixes this 99 out of 100 times…at least in our experience.
Zbrush thinks that esc is being pressed for some reason.

Haven’t figure out why. But a save and restart will (should) fix it.

The only time this really becomes a problem is when you’re in the middle of something…like coming back from Zapplink…ugh
