Problem with Zmapper and MultipleMaps

Hi, i have a problem with zmapper, before i start to sculp a model (modeled in maya) i did some test because i’ve never use polygroup in uv (you know, when you put de uv texture outside 1,0) and i wanted to be sure that warks well, but unfurtunatly i couldn’t do it. here is the facts he he.

This is when i finish the process (first image)

In the second image you can see when click on the “create current mesh” button, as you see something is wrong.

At this moment you obviously say “your UV is wrong” but here is my uv in the third image.

Ok if you think something is wrong with thw geometry, well i try it again with the same geometry but with only one UV, i mean with no polygroup and the result is good watch the uv and the zmapper normal.

So as you see the geometry is good, if i do the normal with polygroup it doesn’t work but it works when the uv texture is inside the uv.

What i want is many normal textures to have more detail but i can’t do it .

Somebody knows what’s happen???

Thanks

you have to break the mesh apart in to each UV group. If the head is in UV 1 and the rest of the body is in UV 0 then the head = 1 subtool and the rest is another.

Then generate the maps for each tool.

You should have gotten an error message about it when you went into Zmapper actually

Hi, tannks for reply me, well i forgot to say that is only one mesh and no subtool. And wen i activate the z mapper, oufcourse if i dont isolete the corresponding uvgroup i cant start the zmapper.

Now, lets see if i understand what you say, are you suggested to split the model into 2 meshes, and put them as a subtools. Or just said to isolate the model.

Thanks

Tool>Polygroups>UV Groups.

Then Tool>SubTool>Grp Split.

Now select a SubTool and use ZMapper. Then select the other and repeat.

Ohh!!, OK thanks aurick, I’ll try and i tell you if i made it.

Aurick said it so much better than me.

Years of practice. With over 17,000 posts to prove it! :stuck_out_tongue:
