Problem with zapp Link

Hello,

I was reading a post that was made a while back, and someone said that Zapp Link works with GIMP. I’ve never used Zapp Link, so I downloaded it off of Pixologic’s site, and put it in the folder it needs to be in. When I ran ZB3 it shows the button, and lets me click on it and send it to another image editor, but not the one I want. It sends it to irfan view, I want it to go to GIMP. It doesnt show the “set Target App” button on Zapp Link. I thought this may just be a problem with ZB3 so I installed it to my copy of ZB2, and the dialog box looks the same. Does anyone have a clue what I need to do to solve my problem?

Unfortunately, there isnt such a button for the pc… To workaround, right click on a .psd file, go to ‘open with’ and select GIMP. Make sure you click on the ‘always open with’ check box, and hit ok. It should work fine after that, did for me anyway.

ZAppLink should not be installed in ZBrush 3. Same goes with ZMapper, Displacement Exporter, and most other ZBrush 2 plugins. We’re going to be releasing new versions of our plugins in the near future, and these will be compatible with ZBrush 3.

I’m a new user to this software… where should I be watching for announcements…

Getting them out is a very high priority, yes. Sign up for our newsletter, or keep an eye on the top rown of thumbnails here at ZBC.

I can’t give release dates. I probably wouldn’t, even if I could! Last minute developments can cause a date to be missed, and it really bugs me to give dates that later prove to be wrong.
