Problem with using downloaded alphas and textures

Hey guys,

I got some trouble with my downloadeed Textures and Alphas.

Where do i have to put em in?

I don’t know where.

I’m using ZBrush 3.5 R3

Greetings

Up to about 25 textures can be placed in the ZStartup\Textures folder and the same number of alphas in ZStartup\Alphas. These will load every time ZBrush launches. Alphas must be 16-bit Grayscale PSD to be recognized.

Anything more than that you can place in the ZBrush 3.5 R3\ZTextures folder and ZAlphas folder. (Again, alphas should be converted to 16-bit Grayscale PSD for best results.) Within ZBrush, Light Box looks at those folders by default. So if you click the Textures link in Light Box, it will show you everything within the ZTextures folder. Same goes for the Alphas link.

The reason why it’s important for alphas to be 16-bit Grayscale PSD, though, is because that is the only format that ZBrush will automatically load into the Alpha palette. If it’s another format like JPG, Light Box will see it and if it’s in the ZAlphas folder it will be displayed when you click on the Alphas link in Light Box. But when you double-click on it Light Box will load it into the Texture palette instead of the Alpha palette. You’d then need to use Texture>Make Alpha to move it to the Alpha palette.

As for the ZStartup\Alphas folder, ZBrush will not auto-load anything there that’s not a 16-bit Grayscale PSD.

Hope that helps.

Thank ya i will try this.
But it sounds good
