Hi, I’m very new to these forums and relatively new to ZBrush.
I have used Zbrush a few times on projects, but I’m in no way at an intermediate level yet. I joined here as I am always running into bugs, issues or weird results when using Zbrush, so I thought I’d come here for help.
My latest problem is using the Insert Mesh Brush (Named: ‘InsertHCube’, ‘InsertHCylinder’, etc). I’m trying to use this brush as part of a hard-surface tutorial. In the tutorial it is used to merge a piece of topology together, without the use of Dynamesh. Its done by drawing the mesh upon the surface of another and ‘Ctrl+Dragging’ twice on the canvas for Zbrush to create a bridge between the two.
Here is a quick video that outlines the process I’m trying to replicate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-5oOHSpFpQ
My problem is that Zbrush breaks the topology of my mesh when I try to bridge to two pieces of geometry. I can replicate this same issue in multiple projects, on all kinds of geometry. Below are some screens showing you what is happening.
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? Is there any way to control how or where the geometry is created when the ‘Ctrl+Drag’ function is used with this brush? On every tutorial I am seeing it looks very straight forward, with geometry being created logically. Here, however, it is destroying my entire mesh.
Any help would be mucho appreciated! Cheers!
