Problem with Text 3d --> SVG

Hi all!
I try out this “Text 3D & Vector Shapes” PlugIN
Everytime I use “New SVG” and try to use a SVG file, ZBrush say “Unsupported File”

I use Inkscape to save the SVG file. I tried all versions that Inkscape can save, everytime the same problem!
Then I try a file downloaded from internet, same problem.

Do I have to take into account what?

If I use “New Text” I have no problems.

I exported a svg from illustrator and it loaded fine in zbrush…

Illustrator SVG’s loading fine for me too.

I can confirm that it does not like Inkscape files, Adobe Illustrator CS2 files, Corel Draw 12 files.

The apps other than Inkscape are old and maybe that’s why, but Inkscape is current. I have tried different settings without luck.

It does like Scribus files (open source desktop publishing).

Using .svg from Affinity Designer (if there’s any text element in the image):
On export one has to enable “export text as curves for font independence”.

Not doing this results in an .svg which makes ZB crash here.

I’m on Illustrator 2017, if that info helps.

I just tried importing an Inkscape svg into Scribus then exported it out of Scribus and that worked fine in ZBrush. Mind you, it was just text and a simple shape but ZBrush did open it.

After playing around in Inkscape some more, i finally got an Inkscape SVG to open in ZBrush. What you have to do is convert your text object to a path… “Path > Object to path”. Then you won’t get the error in ZBrush. The same applies to Adobe Illustrator CS2 where you have to convert the text to outlines.

hhhhmmm

@zber2
I try it out but I get the same error. I think I do something wrong

I am using Inkscape 0.92
In Inkscape, select the Text tool (F8) and type some text.

Using Select tool (F1), select the text you just typed.

Then go to “Path” menu and select “Object to Path”.

Then go to “File/Save As” and select “Inkscape SVG” from the drop down. “Plain SVG” works also.

Verion 0.92 and use your nice step by step manual. Thx for that!

Same error

Is also not so important. I do not really need it.

Ok it left me no rest
I try more around! I think I do all right like in this description:

Now I convert my *.svg to a *.svg on this site : http://image.online-convert.com/convert-to-svg.

After that all work fine for me. There must be something wrong with the file fomat that I saved out from Inkscape.

I had the same problem, and I used Inkscape too. After a lot of trial and error I noticed that the SVG importer doesn’t work if the filepath contains non-English characters. I hope this could help you.
