Problem with Symmetry! Help!

Somehow my actual topology on my zsphere based model has shifted, screwing up symmetry.

I started with some basic form sculpting on a single layer. Once I had the base down, which worked fine with symmetry, on another layer I posed the character.

Then on a third layer I went back to add my major sculpting and another layer for the head sculpting. Somewhere along the lines it’s completely borked.

Am I doing something wrong? I’m using posable symmetry and reset the C.Pivot.

Should I not pose until completely done sculpting or do I have to retopologize?

SS’s:

What you can try doing is going to subdivision level 1 and then using the Tool>Deformation>ReSym or Smart ReSym feature. One may work better than the other. The difficulty is going to be that the center line has been messed up, so ReSym may not work too well. In that case, you could export level 1 and fix it in another app. Just be sure not to change the point order – simply move the points so that they’re right. Then import it back into level 1 of the messed up model. Once the center line is fixed, the ReSym features in ZBrush should work for the rest of the model.

So I could import the sub-D 1 into Max, Using X-Align with the verts and reimport it? Wouldn’t I lose all the higher subd levels then?

I just did that, imported it back as level 1, then when I went up in Sub-D level or tried resim it exploded.
