problem with seeing the texture in Maya that i created in Zbrush

the obj file i created in zbrush and imported into Maya 2011 has the texture that was in the “.mtl” file showing in hypershade BUT i am unable to see the texture on the object in the window despite having the binn file attached and hitting the 6 key in the viewport
any hints for me and i realize this is not strictly a zbrush problem

What file type are you saving your color map out as? (I use Tiff) Also make sure you’re flipping your texture vertically either in Photoshop or in Zbrush before you export do to the upside down texture maps Zbrush will create. You could try creating a new shader and assigning your texture to it. If you made any render passes check them and your render settings to make sure you’re on a setting that would exclude textures.
