Problem with making belts higher poly?

Hi,

I want these belts that I’m making to be higher poly, but I only want there to be more vertical vertices instead of horizontal. I can’t use ZRemesher because I’ve already uv mapped and textured the belts. They have been uv mapped with several other things so I can’t take the time do redo them along with the textures… Is there anway to make this happen? Thanks.

Have you tried running the slice curve tool across the segments?
