Problem with displacement exports.

Just adding my own thread here. I noticed there were some others which I responded to.

I also am having white areas show up in my displacement map exports around my UV seams which I do not want.

I have tried storing the morph target and switching back which doesn’t work and also using the crease button which only adds a worse condition to the displacement map around every polygon.

All I want Zbrush to do is make displacement exports where I actually put brush strokes down. I realize that when subdividing that the mesh will have some difference between the hi and lo res which is what I believe causes the difference in grey color value but I think Zbrush should only account for actual brush strokes which would then allow me to just add what I need instead of end up with a result I have to correct in photoshop.

Thanks for any help with this.

Ok I think I figured it out.

The problem is this. I was using “adaptive” at “create and export displacement map”.

I used to just switch back to the morph target and get the correct result but the adaptive button adds the white areas because of the difference in mesh area between the hi and low meshes.

Dude, it really works~!
So the problem is the Adaptive button, which add the white area at the edges…Many many thanks!

*Now I can sleep well tonight, without thinking how to solve this mystery lol
