Problem with Color

Hey Guys,
I am very new with ZBrush. I am trying to export my textured and colored tool to Cinema 4D, but all I can get is the tool and the texture and no color information. I’d like to export the tool with the color and texture I’ve applied into Cinema 4D. How do I do that?
I saw some tutorials about the Color to Texture option, but I do not have Texture menu in my Tool menu. I have UV Map and Texture Map but I don’t know if I need to use them and how in order to achieve the result.

Thanks,
3d_xplorer.

First, does the model have UV mapping? If not, you need to apply it. Go to level 1 of your model and select a texture size in the Tool>Texture Map menu. The size of the texture should have at least as many pixels as the model has polygons. Then apply a mapping method such as PUVTiles by clicking on that button in the Texture Map menu.

Now go back to the highest level and press Tool>Texture>New From Polypaint. This will create a texture in the Texture Map menu which you will then need to move to the Texture palette by pressing Tool>Texture Map>Clone. Now go to the Texture palette and use the FlipV button followed by Export.

Return to level 1 of your model and export that as OBJ.

In Cinema 4D, import your OBJ and then import and apply the texture.

aurick thank you so much!!
You are amazing! It works like a charm!
I am wondering about one more thing. Since ZBrush has some excellent materials. Is there a way that I can export my model into Cinema 4D along with the applied material too?
And I ask all of that because I would like to be able to take my finished model from ZBrush and place it into Cinema 4D so that I can then change the lighting and background.

Thanks,

Materials are instructions to the rendering engine, having to do with how light interacts with the surface of the object. For this reason, they are unique to each rendering engine. It is not possible to take materials from one engine to another.

aurick, once again thank you very much for your help!
I understand what you are saying. I believe, if I really wanted a certain material look, I could just do my renders in ZBrush and adjust the lighting there.
Thank you again!
