Problem to fix material when texture is on

If I give a bitmap texture to a subtool it will change the material as soon as I select another material, no matter if I have filled with a material before.

For example, use the default star and give it uvs and bitmap texture. Fill now with material that will change as soon we select another material. But if we switch off the bitmap texture then the material will remain fixed.

This is not related to the version of Zbrush as it was happening in older versions. I have not switched off the brush icon of the layer and the example of the star is done with defaults.

How I can fix a material when bitmap texture is on? :rolleyes:

With the texture displayed on the model, and the material you want selected, press Tool:Texture Map>Fill>Fill Mat.

Creating a new texture from polypaint will also embed materials in the map if they are embedded in the model.

I think you also need to have ‘Mrgb’ switched to on when you do what Marcus said for it to take effect (??)

I could be wrong as I’m still picking up on things as well

Thanks a lot Marcus. I thought those options were identical to fillobject and I never used them.

DougE, I have double checked just now and in this case to set Mrgb is not needed. This is obviously different to the fillobject option that needs it.
