Problem merging subtools!

Hello all. I’m having a problem mering subtools in Z-brush.

I first modelled a 3d head of a character from a normal sphere. I then proceeded to make the hands and feet the same way (scultping spheres, into body parts). When I was done, I had a head, feet, hands, arms, and legs, all sculpted, from spheres.
The problem came when I attempted to merge all of my body parts together with the popular Z-plugin: Subtool Master.

After merging, I found that the body parts wern’t actually merged. If I attempted to work on the model in any way, the subtools would simply pull apart from each other (as though the polygons were not merged at all!) For example, after using the “inflate” tool on a part of the arm that was “supposed” to be merged together with the body, the arm pulled away from the body entirely (so that I was now looking at two totally seperated pieces, an arm, and a body, not one mesh).

After watching the video tutorial in the below link, I saw someone actually pull off what I wanted to do!

The](http://www.pixologic.com/zclassroom/homeroom/tutorial.php?lesson=jeffThe) person sucessfully “merged” a sphere created head, together with a z-sphere created body (with no pull aparts, as the mesh was entirely merged together, into one solid mesh)… However, he completely did not explain how he did it. What his tutorial DID show however, was that he used the same z-plugin I did (Subtool Master) to merge his subtools together.

My question is, how did the person actually merge his sphere created head together with a z-sphere body, to make one solid mesh, and not seperated parts that were still behaving as though they were not merged at all.

Note:

-I’ve already watchced many tutorials on “re-topologizing”
-I’ve already learned how to use a z-sphere to rig/topo two seperate mesh parts together (doesn’t work for my situation)

have you tried this?
in your subtool menu, you have a merge visible button,
if you turn all your subtools on and press that button, it should create a new tool in your tool palette and will just call it merged…whatever you had it called before.
and this tool should be just one tool .
good luck…
