Problem Importing UVed Base Mesh

Iv had some problem reimporting my base mesh after UVing, after importing it and increasing the subdivision there are some crazy deformations.

I did some test and if I take the OBJ exported from ZBrush, open it in Maya (as if I were about to UV it) and export it without making any changes then when I take it to Zbrush it screws up the higher subdivisions.

Straight exporting the OBJ from Zbrush and then reimporting it and the higher Subdivions are fine. I cant open the obj, UV it and save it because I get the error “The requested file type does not have write support.

I hope i explained it clearly enough its late, :slight_smile: any solutions or work arounds welcome.

We will need more information. What steps are you following? What settings are you using at each step? Can you show pictures of what’s happening?

I figured out, asked round a couple of class mates and rather than just opening the OBJ in Maya I needed to import it in with “create multiple objects” unchecked. It then worked a treat. :slight_smile:
