I have found the plugin in maya to export as .obj, but when I try importing it into ZBrush, it says “error encountered importing a file”. In maya, when I am exporting it, I have most of the settings as what they were. So the settings are…
General Options:
File type: OBJ exporter
default file extensions is checked off
Reference Options:
Everything is grayed out
Include options:
Everything is grayed out
File type specific options:
Everything is on.
What could be the problem I am having? I looked online and havent seen anyone else with this problem, but its hopefully an easy fix, with me just doing something wrong.
Incase it helps, to get to the export menu, I select all the objects I want (I leave all wireframes intact, and in the work area, and just select the shaded pieces that i need) and then I go to File>Export Selection (i select the box beside it)> I hit the export selection button.
I will continue troubleshooting, but if you know the problem thats causing this, please let me know…
