I’m working on my first character in maya. I tried to import the whole thing in with sub tools and on her jacket there are massive chunks of geometry missing and it changes when you rotate the view. Just the jacket is doing this both in obj and sub tool form. pic
It sounds like your model might have some flipped normals. What happens if you turn on Tool>Display Properties>Double?
