Just saved my project as a tool on my mac then tried opening it on a school mac/windows and it did but there was a problem. Couldn’t edit the tool, and every time I clicked, a string of whatever my object was (in this case a head) would appear. The more I dragged my mouse, the more strings of heads would appear. Weird? Help?

Before you draw your model on the canvas, make sure that the Stroke type is set to DragRect. Right now it’s Dots, which draws a series of dots – in this case, each dot is an instance of the model.
Of course, after you draw it on the canvas you’ll need to press T to enter Edit mode. :)
