Problem exporting obj to maya

I built a basic mesh in Maya, then reworked it and added a lot of detail in ZBrush. Earlier today, I exported the lowst subdivision level as an obj and took it back into Maya to unwrap the UV’s. At first it looked fine but then I discovered it the mesh existed as a number of different objects. I could just combine them and merge all the verts, but I would rather bring in a good, unified mesh.

My Ztl has a lot of layers, and a friend suggested I delete all the layers before exporting. I’ve done that and I’ve also unified all the separate polygroups in to one group.

I’m working in ZBrush at home and maya in another location, so it’s a pain to run back and forth. Anything else anyone thinks I should do in ZBrush before I treck out to work in Maya?

When exporting from zbrush Be shure to uncheck the “GRP” button

awesome–worked like a charm. Thanks for the help!
