When I attempt to transfer what is a good image of a texture map from Zbrush into Maya 8 the texture map becomes very poor quality.
Can anyone suggest why the quality is not as good in Maya 8 as it is in Zbrush.

There’s no way to answer without more info.
Which version are you using? How are you painting the texture? If it’s polypaint, how many polygons is the model and how large is the texture?
texture mapping problemHi thanks for getting back to me I am attemting to self learn and I have come across the following problem…
I am using Zbrush 3.5 along with Maya 8
Stages of work flow are>
The model in ZBrush 3.5 is sculptured up to level 8
I then went back to level 1 and I clicked on the tab UV Map within that tab bar I pressed GUV Tiles from that I raised the level back up to level 8 at this point I began to Polly Paint.
Once I finished painting I went to the tab Texture Map… I Opened the tab and clicked on New from Polly Paint.
Which then inturn created my texture map… from this I then clicked on Clone to texture which then sent the texture map to my texture library, at this point I exported this texture out as a Tiff File.
Then with the model I used the Decimation Master Plug In to lower the polygon count…
The original Polly count was 9273344 … tHE POINTS ARE 9273346.
Setting for Decimation Plug Inn… I sellect keep UV on… the Decimation percentage is 20 percent the Pollys are 200 and the points are also 200.
I Then press Pre-Process current… Once It has calculated I then press decimate current…
From this I have a lower Polygon Model to work with…
I Then export it back to Maya 8 as an OBJ File… Once the model is in Maya I sellect the model and then go to common material attributes bar and from there I sellect the colour tab slider bar which brings up another box called create render node…
At this point I sellect the file and place my texture map… But at this point my texture map is placed wrong… I go into Photoshop CS4 and flip the canass vertically so that it places the texture correctly onto the model…
The Quality is poor and dose not show all of the detail that the map has on it as seen in Photoshop CS4…
